Was watching 3 idiots… a nicely made masala movie… perhaps if the novel was written this way, it would have been more realistic and i would have enjoyed it… rather than complaining… except for the delivery scene, everything was good…

I think my mind is way too fast than all the physical movements of my body… was thinking of writing complaining and ended up writing complaing…

perhaps this is also the reason why i am unable to write good blogs… the thought comes, goes and expires before even i start with the first line…

all i need is better secondary storage…

For people like me who prefer white on black – old school blackboard style – rather than the default black on white text editors, why isn’t there an option to change the caret (the “cursor”) to white – gray – or any other color???

My worst weakness (i prefer ‘best weakness’) is medu vadai… closely followed by masala vadai, both from roadside tea shops :-)

I personally have the feeling that if indians have invested the same amount of innovation creativity and thought process that they did in food in other things, then we would be the leaders in almost everything in the world.
Ever wondered about the one who invented the idli?
1 portion of dal, three portions of rice, soak for half a day, grind, keep it for 1 day and steam cook…
I also have a personal feeling that we, aided by good weather and lack of that many natural calamities and wild animals (if we domesticate elephants, it is difficult for any little lion or tiger to just barge in) had hell a lot of time to invest in these things
and did not have that much a necessity to innovate in others

the time when this necessity would have come, we were already kissing the — of our great conquerors…

People shout at me when i complain about the way poojas happen here. especially in a tamil brahmin family . most of the times you don’t know what the purohit (sastrigal or vathiyar) is telling. you repeat it as it is said. sometimes the teacher says it wrong. many times you do. sometimes the teacher catches you and asks you to repeat it, the correct way. (all these happens normally, no specific stops etc… you have to watch it to experience it) but this is accepted and forgiven most of the times (in a language like sanskrit where different pronunciation changes the meaning of the word, they say)

thats why i say “why this is required, anyway you are not doing it the right way, and we are not even sure whether there IS is right way at all…” and people shout at me

this was THE reason why i wholeheartedly supported the “thamizil archanai” – poojas in tamil scheme of the tamil nadu govt.

and for the record, i think hinduism is the best religion of the world… and it is the way to go…

am almost always very happy with the auto correction of my MacOSX textedit. its amazing how much features this little editor ha built in…
and compared to its windows counterpart – Notepad and Wordpad, this is amazing…
but sometimes this little friend of mine becomes over enthusiastic. i typed sastrigal and i got astragal

you know why they call all ladies when there is a festival at home… and start shouting “anni anni”, “akka akka” or “maami maami” depending on the situation… it is for collective knowledge… no one knows fully what has to be done. no one. its the collective knowledge that makes our festivals occasions and ceremonies “complete” and “conducted in a grand manner” and “successful”… in many ways, we are a huge Wikipedia… In one sense India itself operates just based on collective knowledge

  1. Agreer on how repetition of archanai mantras in Pujais. But somehow I thought mantras were designed in such a way it produces the right kind of vibrations or something of that sort. So will Tamil archanais still hold to that?
